1450 cathedral: nice stained glass, impressive columns, blue and gold ceiling
1510 walk to castle
1530 castle: 700 years old, doesn't look a day over 200.
1600 return to 31 Howard
1630 discover there are no trains to Ravenglass on Sunday
1640 go to visitor centre (40 and windy)
1650 arrive visitor centre, enquire about busses, none run on Sunday
1659 squeeze past closing door on visitor centre
1710 return to 31 Howard, explain situation to Mom
1715 check brochures in sitting room for plan B
1730 decide on train trip up Eden valley
     read
1850 walk to Victoria's at Lakes Court Hotel near station (in drizzle)
1905 told service may be slow, big parties in other room, we decide to keep the British end up
     prawns in filo dough
     sirloin
     chocolate mousse
2045 return to room (in rain)
